Gwent Music is at the heart of music making in South Wales and a flagship music service in the UK.

From one to one lessons to full scale performances and events,we provide quality and inspiration at every level.

We are a Local Authority Music Service in collaboration with Newport City Council, Blaenau Gwent  Monmouthshire and Torfaen

In a nutshell, we teach children and adults, we run activities for them to use their skills, we put on every type of concert from small and informal to huge gala events.

We can point you in the right direction to buy an instrument, find a teacher or supply musicians for an event.

Friends of Gwent Youth Music

Friends of Greater Gwent Youth Music

The main role of our Friends group is to source and provide funding to support the many activities of our Greater Gwent Youth Groups. This is done by managing charitable donations, identifying sponsors/partners and organising fundraising events. It also provides support at events where requested including managing the tickets on the door and running the raffle.

Examples where the Friends have provided financial support include funding transport for the pupils to attend competitions, paying for equipment and pay for tutors for the courses.

We are always looking for new volunteers to join this group. We need more help as the Group will have an increasing role in funding the courses and Ensembles in the future.
