Examinations
Some students / teachers like to measure progress by taking exams. The teacher will recommend when the time is right as there are many aspects that need to be covered before students are ready. We work with 3 exam boards that all have their own way of doing things. Normally you prepare 3 pieces, some scales or technical exercises and some other small tests called sight reading and aural.
Your teacher will prepare all of this work with you, but make sure you do the practice at home so that you have a great experience. For some exams you will need an accompanist (somebody who plays piano for you). If you do need one your teacher will tell you.
Exam entry forms are handed out by tutors, please note that the approval of your child’s tutor is required.
